about the program
Tom Thumb believes in working together with our customers to support programs that improve the quality of life in the communities we serve. We are committed to assisting non-profit organizations that are important to our customers and their families.

Tom Thumb offers our customers a way to direct our donation dollars to their favorite church, school or other non-profit organization. Since the program began in the fall of 1996, Tom Thumb/Randalls has donated nearly $48 million to over 8000 participating organizations. Through our Good Neighbor Program, organizations sign up to have an exclusive account number. Members of an organization can then link the account number to their Rewards card. You can link your favorite participating charity to your Rewards card by completing a Good Neighbor Charity Addition/Deletion Form. You will find the guidelines for organizations participating in the Good Neighbor Program outlined below. The more people who link their card to the organization's account number, the more money the organization will raise. For artwork to use in newsletters or Web sites, please see below.

Thank you for partnering with TomThumb in helping the organizations that make our communities such wonderful places to live.

frequently asked questions
Can I link my Reward card to more than one organization?
Up to three organizations per household may be linked. Your total purchase amount will be divided equally amount the organizations designated on the Reward cards in each household. To maximize the contribution level, we recommend choosing only one organization per household.
What if I already have my Reward card linked to an organization, but decide that I want to change it?
You can change your designated organization at any time by completing a Reward Application from at any Courtesy Booth. Fill in the top portion and the "Good Neighbor Program" section, indicating what account number to link or delink on your card.
Do I have to give the organization's number every time I make a purchase?
No. Once your Reward card is linked to your specified organization, that's it! Every time you make a purchase using your Reward card, the total purchase will be automatically credited to your organization.
What purchases are excluded?
Pharmacy, fuel, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products do not count toward the purchase amount credited to the Good Neighbor Program accounts.
I forgot to give the cashier my Reward card. Can I bring in my receipt tomorrow to be sure that my organization gets the credit for that purchase?
No. A customer's Reward card must be scanned at the register prior to having your groceries scanned. Data to determine Tom Thumbs' contribution to Good Neighbor Program organizations is collected electronically through the magnetic strip on your Reward Card. Therefore, we are only able to credit the organizations with purchases made through the Reward Card. Purchases made prior to the Reward Card being linked to the organization do not count toward the Good Neighbor Program. Purchases are not retroactive.
we make it easier for organizations to raise funds
Tom Thumb makes it easy for any church, school, or non-profit organization to raise funds with no selling, no paperwork, and no up-front investment with our Good Neighbor Program.

If your organization is seeking a donation or sponsorship from Tom Thumb, this is the program for you! Our Good Neighbor Program allows us to support a great number of community endeavors. In fact, we make the majority of our contribution with this program.

The majority of our customers use the Reward card each time they shop because of the many benefits the card offers. Customers save money, and enter contests while supporting their favorite organizations. At Tom Thumb, your Good Neighbor Program account number is linked to your supporters' cards so your organization will accumulate funds quickly and easily.

Here's how it works: Your organization fills out an application, found in the Good Neighbor Program brochure available at our stores. Once your organization's application has been approved, it will be assigned an exclusive account number. That number must be communicated by your organization to the supporters of your group, who can then link your account number to their Reward Card. Your supporters will simply fill out the Good Neighbor program section and the top part of a Reward Card Application, indicating your organization's number and return it to the Courtesy Booth. That's it! Your organization is now linked to those cards. From that point on, the purchase price of groceries will automatically be recorded to your organization's Good Neighbor account. We keep a running total of your account, and a check for 1% of the total is sent directly to your organization each quarter.

We will pay 1% of your members' total grocery purchases to your fund-raising organization, as long as the cardholders are in good standing with Tom Thumb. The amount of the check depends on the amount of your supporters' total purchases.

frequently asked questions
When does our organization receive its check?
Tom Thumbs pays your organization 1% of the total purchases at the end of each calendar quarter (March, June, September, and December). Your organization will receive a check approximately three weeks following the end of the quarter. Once the quarterly payment has been made to your organization, your account will revert back to $0 and will begin accumulating again for the next quarter.
Will we receive any type of quarterly statement?
Yes. A statement will be sent to your organization approximately two weeks following the end of the quarter. The statement will show the total purchase amount made by your members for the quarter. It will also show how much your payment will be from Tom Thumbs. Your group should receive the check within three weeks of receiving the statement.
If my organization joins the program during the last month of the quarter, will I still receive a check for that quarter?
If purchases total less than $2,500, your purchases will automatically roll over to the next quarter. Otherwise, all organizations receive a check at the end of each quarter. Additionally, all accounts are paid out in full at the end of the year, regardless of the balance.
Can a member have his or her Reward card linked to more than one organization?
Up to three organizations per household may be linked. A customer's total purchase amount will be divided equally among the organizations designated on all cards in each household. To maximize the contribution amount your organization will receive, we recommend choosing only one organization per household.
What if a customer already has his or her Reward card linked to an organization, but then decides to change it?
The customer can change his or her designated organization at any time simply by indicating the account number to add or delete using a Reward Card application. The customer completes the top section and the Good Neighbor program section and returns it to the Courtesy Booth.
