Directions Basic Cooking Instructions: Bring 2-1/2 cups water and 1/2 teaspoon salt to a boil. Add 1 cup cracked freekeh, cover and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer until liquid is absorbed, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Makes 4 servings. Ideal for savory salads, spiced pilafs and hearty hot cereal. Store in a cool, dry place. Keeps best refrigerated or frozen after opening.
