The local water was polluted with typhoid so the Wallace Mayor issued a proclamation for all saloons to stay open around the clock and forbid the populace to consume anything but beer. We Saved the Beer: In 2009 Wallace Brewing Company opened with the aim of preserving the heritage of a town loaded with flavor and a history of hard rock mining and bordellos.
