Directions Cooking Instructions: 1. In a medium saucepan (3 qt) bring 2-1/4 cups of water to be a boil over high heat. 2. Stir in 8 oz of wild rice and cover. Reduce heat to a fast simmer (medium-low heat). 3. Cook for 45-50 minutes (Do not lift lid while cooking!). 4. Remove from heat. Let stand covered for 10 minutes. Fluff with fork, salt to taste and serve. If the rice is too firm at the end of cooking, it may be necessary to add 1-2 tbsp. of liquid and cook longer. Wild rice can be prepared in a rice cooker following the same rice to water ratios. We recommend refrigeration for extended shelf life.
