Ale, Belgian Golden
1871. Bottle conditioned. The Moortgat family brewery. Refreshing and golden like a Pilsner, but with the flavor, depth and complexity of an ale, this Belgian favorite has been brewed by four generations of the Moortgat family. Directions Pour unhurriedly. Enjoy chilled (40-50 degrees F) with discerning friends or good-looking strangers. Pouring a Duvel take a moment or two, but like all good things, expectation precedes enjoyment. Here's a simple guide to the perfect pour, which we believe is worth getting right to fully enjoy Duvel's beguiling taste. 1. Hold the glass at an angle. Avoid any contact between the glass and the bottle. 2. Pour from a gradually increasing distance. 3. Bring the glass slowly upright for a rich, full layer of froth. Ideally, beer and head divide at the height of the Duvel logo. Do not let the head come over the edge of the glass. Store this bottle in a cool, dark place. To serve, tip glass and pour gently.
