Good Neighbor Program

Dear Friends,

Tom Thumb believes in working together with our customers to support programs that improve the quality of life in the communities we serve. We are committed to assisting non-profit organizations that are important to our customers and their families.

Tom Thumb offers our customers a way to direct our donation dollars to their favorite church, school or other non-profit organization. Since the program began in the fall of 1996, Tom Thumb and Tom Thumb have donated more than $20 million to over 7500 participating organizations. Through our Good Neighbor Program, organizations sign up to have an exclusive account number. Members of an organization can then link the account number to their Reward cards. You can link your favorite participating charity to your Reward card by completing a Reward Application Form at any Courtesy Booth. Fill in the top portion and the "Good Neighbor Program" section, indicating what account number to link to your card.

You will find the guidelines for organizations participating in the Good Neighbor Program outlined in a link at the top of this Web page. Detailed brochures with applications are available at any Tom Thumb location. The more people who link their card to the organization's account number, the more money the organization will raise. For artwork to use in newsletters or Web sites, please click on the link at the top of this Web page.

Thank you for partnering with Tom Thumb in helping the organizations that make our communities such wonderful places to live.

FAQ's:

1.) Can I link my Reward card to more than one organization?

Up to three organizations per household may be linked. Your total purchase amount will be divided equally among the organizations designated on the Reward cards in each household. To maximize the contribution level, we recommend choosing only one organization per household.

2.) What if I already have my Reward card linked to an organization, but decide that I want to change it?

You can change your designated organization at any time by completing a Reward Application Form at any Courtesy Booth. Fill in the top portion and the "Good Neighbor Program" section, indicating what account number to link or delink on your card.

3.) Do I have to give the organization's number every time I make a purchase?

No. Once your Reward card is linked to your specified organization, that's it! Every time you make a purchase using your Reward card, the total purchase will be automatically credited to your organization.

4.) What purchases are excluded?

Pharmacy, fuel, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco products do not count toward the purchase amount credited to the Good Neighbor Program accounts.

5.) I forgot to give the cashier my Reward card. Can I bring in my receipt tomorrow to be sure that my organization gets the credit for that purchase?

No. A customer's Reward card must be scanned at the register prior to having your groceries scanned. Data to determine Tom Thumb' contribution to Good Neighbor Program organizations is collected electronically through the magnetic strip on your Reward Card. Therefore, we are only able to credit the organizations with purchases made through the Reward Card. Purchases made prior to the Reward Card being linked to the organization do not count toward the Good Neighbor Program. Purchases are not retroactive.
